Louisa L. is a French contemporary artist, member of The Art Students League of New York and the National Association of Women Artists. She concentrates on acrylic painting, watercolor and mixed media. While exploring different techniques, she is drawing her inspiration from the streets of Paris and New York and from people she has met throughout her life.
With a consistent female and earth presence in her abstract work, the painter Louisa L. has been conveying a universal message of freedom, love, multiculturalism and most of all, peace.
With her exhibition “New York Her”, Louisa L. is taking it to another level, this time focusing on extraordinary immigrant women. They represent the diversity of the city: they proudly are the face of their neighborhood, their community and the city at large. They have opinions to share and voices that are more and more being heard. They are reshaping what a city is and how the world will look like.
They are entrepreneurs, train drivers, authors, food purveyor, elected representative, mothers and wives. They have inspired Louisa, and they will inspire the new generation of women and New York citizens who care about social justice as well. New York Her is a collection of their stories.
